*SPOILER ALERT*Okay. I have to admit that the first thing I did was to skim ahead to see how long it takes for Daniel to find Clare. Once I took care of my intense curiosity, I started reading this book like a normal person would… at the beginning.
The beginning pages tell us that Clare has no memory as to who she is. The introductory pages are just long enough to show Clare that she doesn’t get hot, hungry, thirsty, etc, but not so long that I got tired of her desert inner-monologue… so, just right lol.
Clare gets a chance to discover herself without Ellen, Daniel or Alex. For a short time, she lives a normal life (or as normal as she can be without remembering who she is). She makes new friends who are kind and giving. She is given the space to think about the things that seem familiar to her.
There is excitement in knowing that Daniel finds Clare. I had hope that it would at least break open some of the memory gap. Instead, Clare questions her need to trust his decisions… his plan. He is “the keeper”of Farrah’s plan. Along the way, despite her lack of memory, Clare realizes that she does trust him. Even without her memory, there is part of her that recognizes Daniel as someone in which she has faith.
Clare also realizes that she is a person who cares more for others than for herself… she is a protector. Once Clare is separated from Mathias by Daliah and Twitch, her memories return. Even though she is mad at Mathias for “hitching a ride” inside her head, Clare wants to protect him. She places him in a silver room to keep out the houseful of watchers as well as any rogue watchers in the area.
Once she learns the story of Twitch and Daliah, Clare begins to realize that Daliah was chosen by Farrah to be “the keeper” of secrets… the one who can lead her to the secret city that is the next part of the plan. Daliah and Twitch are each half of a whole angel rescued by Farrah. They are powerful and have a secret purpose in Clare’s mission, as Farrah has foreseen they would be needed.
During the mission, Clare “meets” Farrah and learns more about her… her daily life, the role of a leader, and just enough of the future for Clare to understand her importance. She discovers that she is “the keeper” of the knowledge needed to complete the mission. She learns about the historian, the inventor, and the orator realizing that at least two of the three are dead. Clare enjoys getting to know Farrah, and she realizes how much they are alike. She is proud to be a part of such lineage and wishes that somehow Farrah could still be alive.
Clare’s exit from the library is far more difficult that her entrance. It is at this point Daliah and Twitch must sacrifice themselves to save Clare from an Avenging Angel. The ripple effect from “the light” caused by the sacrifice drains all of Clare’s energy and temporarily drains her powers. It is still a mystery as to why this happens.
In the end, Clare’s loyalty and devotion to her friends traps her and Daniel in a watery time bomb into which they fall, both fading to unconsciousness. This is how Lynnie Purcell ends this part of their journey… in a masterfully crafted cliffhanger. I am dying to know what happens next.
This is a must read. I rated it 4 out of 5 stars, but I really feel it deserves closer to 4.5.

The Keeper Book 2 The Guardian Series eBook Lynnie Purcell Tatiana Villa Benjamin Locke Reviews
This was another great book from this author. The story keeps getting better and better. I hope it never ends.
each time I start a new book in the Guardian series I think that it cannot be better than the last but it always is. starting the third book cannot wait.
Seriously this series is so cool! I love it. From the beginning of the book it keeps you captivated an is that to put th book down until you finish. Now to read the next one.
I chose the rating cause the story seems to always get more interesting this is one of the best series to read the story is full and doesn't jump around like crazy I would recommend this book to everyone hope they make a movie to these books and I don't like the fact the next book is not out yet can't wait
My husband has lost his wife to a book series in the last couple of weeks. I've spent every extra second I have reading The Watcher Series and The Guardian Series. Now I'm addicted and there's not another book yet! I know you just released this one in August, but I can't wait for the next one. I want more!!!
I am in love with this series! It's a page turner! Read the Watcher series first! Great reading for an amazing price. These books keep you wanting more!
The Keeper is not just the 2nd book in The Guardian Series it is a continuation of The Watcher Series, I highly recommend beginning with the The Watcher series if you have not read that series. The Watchers (Book 1 The Watchers Series) The Keeper picks up right where The Hunter leaves off taking the reader on a roller coaster ride from beginning to end on an ever evolving endeavor to save the world from Odette and her dark plans. I'm totally hooked and can't wait for the next installment of The Guardian Series!
